This is a slap in the face to our neighborhood and a complete reversal from USPS’ decision in June of last year to reestablish a post office in Allston.

The United States Postal Service suspended services at the Allston Post Office branch in 2019 due to structural issues with the building. For the past seven years, Allston-Brighton's 87,000 residents have had to rely solely on the Brighton Post Office branch.

There are a few things you can do to tell USPS to honor their commitment to our neighborhood and reestablish an Allston Post Office:

1. Attend the upcoming virtual community meeting- USPS is hosting a community meeting this Friday, September 11th at 1:00 pm. If you are an Allston resident affected by the closure, please join the meeting to share your opinion.

2. Complete the questionnaire mailed by USPS-

Allston residents who received the notification from USPS are encouraged to fill out the attached questionnaire. The mailer should include a pre-paid return envelope. Completing this questionnaire will let USPS know how important a Post Office location in Allston is to our community.
